We welcome children aged 2-5 years in our Pre-School and we are registered for funded place from 2 years plus.  We offer morning and afternoon sessions as well as a lunch club which can be used for continuous care.

All 3 and 4 year olds in England are eligible for free early education and childcare the term after their third birthday.  They are entitled to 15 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year which is funded by the government.  Some 2 year olds are also eligible.  More information along with eligibility criteria for 2 year old funding can be found here.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and focus on the three prime areas: Communication & Language, Physical Development, and Personal, Social & Emotional Development, as well as the four specific areas: Mathematics, Literacy, Understanding of the World and Expressive Arts & Design.

We encourage children to achieve learning outcomes through fun activities and we structure our sessions to allow for circle time and individual and group activities.

Each child has a 'My Learning Journey' where a key member of staff will record key observations and keep a track of how your child is developing against the EYFS.  The Learning Journeys are a crucial part of child development and they are accessible for parents to review and/or add to at all times.

We have a well planned layout where children can immediately access the home corner, book area, music area, writing table and creative areas.  We have mid height toilets to help build confidence in young children using the toilet and have excellent nappy changing facilities for children.  We will work with parents who are toilet training to ensure a consistent approach.

We have excellent outdoor facilities which include a walk in sandpit, a large water play area, a covered veranda and access to the school field, playground and play apparatus.  Our outside area is continually accessible and we plan outside activities for each session to help encourage learning through play.

We have a Sunflowers Childcare uniform (polo shirts and sweatshirts) available to purchase however uniform is not mandatory.

We do have a £10 administration charge for all new Pre-School starters however this is not applicable if you are only accessing your 15 hours of government funding.
